MJAS is cultivating a generation/s of young women who are poised to lead their own transformative initiatives

MJAS is a pioneering women-led grassroots organization based in Rajasthan, founded in the year 2000 with profound dedication to promoting women’s and human rights. The organization strives towards inclusivity and equality, working with marginalized groups in society to ensure dignity, safety, security, and opportunities for all. Recognizing the inherent power of women and girls, MJAS enables women and girls to stand for their rights as per the Constitution of India and various international laws, such as the United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights, CEDAW, and the CRC.
The organization’s strategic approach emphasizes mobilizing and capacitating young voices through its 5i interventions fostering a just and equitable society. MJAS creates safe and supportive spaces where Women and girls are able to exercise their agency to its fullest to access their rights and contribute more in the development of the society. Currently operational in 200 villages and 5 semi-urban localities across three districts of Rajasthan, MJAS reaches over more than 300000 people.

The focus of MJAS is to mobilise, collectivise and capacitate young voices through its 5i strategic interventions and enable them to create a world just and equal for all. MJAS strives towards co-creating safe and supportive spaces for women and girls so that they are able to exercise their agency to its fullest. This empowers them to utilize their citizenship rights to access services, entitlements and opportunities. Currently, MJAS is operational in 200 villages and semi-urban localities across three districts of Rajasthan, with an outreach population of more than 100000.

In recognition of its outstanding efforts, MJAS was awarded the “Best Organization for Gender Equality Award” by the Martha Farrell Foundation, New Delhi, in 2019 and many more.

Our Mission

Empowering women and girls as changemakers, who collectively lead movements to transform ecosystems at the levels of self, system and society (Triple-S ToC) focusing on the most marginalized communities.

Strategy

To implement MJAS’s Triple-S Theory of Change(ToC) key strategies are:

Innovate to foster the leadership of girls and young women to be the change makers of their own lives.
Ignite village-level/local networks and ecosystem of peers and allies for dialogue and collaboration with girl and women changemakers
Integrate the voice and ideas of girls and women in public planning and policy
Influence the change narrative/ discourse shift towards the recognition and celebration of girl and young women changemakers
Initiate excellence in execution within MJAS to achieve the above
